The SMC Conference Program Development Committee has general responsibility for developing program themes, topics, content, schedules, speakers, activities, fees, locations, and scope of Council Conferences, Exhibitions, conference calls and other educational forums

The SMC State Association Safety Committee serves as a forum for state trucking association safety leaders to share ideas, keep carriers informed, and exchange data on key issues like compliance, enforcement trends, permitting challenges, and state safety laws.

The SMC Driver Career & Wellness Committee focuses on attracting and retaining trucking professionals by identifying and addressing recruitment and retention challenges. It promotes proven health and wellness practices, shares educational resources, and advises ATA policy staff on the operational impact of FMCSA medical rules and related research.

The SMC Regulations Committee has general responsibility for monitoring, evaluating and providing recommendations to ATA legislative, policy and legal staff and ATA’s safety policy committee, as appropriate, on motor carrier safety issues and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation rulemakings that affect truck safety.
